Keltec Design & Drafting

KelTec Design & Drafting’s experience is built on a broad range of sectors from single family residential to commercial and retail; from institutional to high-rise office towers. We have experience in all aspects of project delivery from the first moments of project development through to and including contract administration. We believe the diversity of our experience, our ability to be adaptive and our ability to work remotely is particularly well suited to the modern construction industry.

Architecture is not created in isolation. We strive to be enthusiastic collaborators; participating with and supporting the unique requirements of your team.

Our clients find that contracting out technical support is a financially efficient strategy. By reducing office overhead through avoiding long term staffing commitments, particularly on short term projects, your company can move swiftly to deliver a quality product at lower costs.

We promise diligence in meeting every deadline, professionalism in communications with you and your team, plus a high degree of responsibility, discretion and confidentiality throughout the project.

The Keltec Team

Deb Taylor, LEED AP

Architectural Engineering Technologist

Deb graduated from the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology in 1994, gaining experience first as a technologist and then as a CAD manager for two prominent architectural firms in Calgary. Founding her own consulting business in 2001, her first clients and projects came to her through colleague endorsements. After moving to Kelowna in 2007 she was able to maintain those relationships based on the high quality of work she provided.

The partnering with Craig Milton in 2013 was a welcome evolution providing additional skills and ideas allowing the company to handle a greater diversity of projects.

Deb stays challenged by creating build-able, code compliant details that are efficient while meeting the initial design intent. She stays professionally current by embracing the best from each project and associated team of people. Providing a well rounded technical background to new and existing clients.

Working with Revit software since 2009 Deb has been able to help clients transition to the technology by ensuring the BIM model is relevant to each project phase development.

Craig R. Milton, AT.AIBC

Architectural Technologist

Craig brings to KelTec 17 years of design and drafting experience. In 2006 he accepted a position with an architectural firm in Kelowna Building on several years’ experience designing recreational vehicles. At this firm he began working with Revit while developing his knowledge of building sciences.

Working with a number of talented and award winning architects he was soon hooked on architectural design and enrolled in Phase I of the RAIC Syllabus program. In 2015 Craig fulfilled the requirements to become a registered Architectural Technologist with the AIBC.

In addition to providing creative solutions, preparing deliverables on time and on budget, he brings an intuitive sense of design to every project. Easily collaborating with architects, developers and contractors, Craig’ skillset is an asset to making any project a reality.

Recently Craig completed the CanPHI’s Introduction to Passive House course. He has since been fortunate to apply and build on that knowledge working on passive house projects with a valued client with expertise in this fascinating area of building science.

For Craig, the opportunity to work on architecture is a privilege. He strives to be part of something he is proud to have his name associated with and to contribute to structures which communities they are in will find worthy of preservation.
